Effective date: July 14, 2026
These terms govern your use of HangTime. They're a contract between you and us, so please read them. We've tried to keep them readable.
If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use HangTime.
HangTime is operated by GRT Tech LLC ("we," "us"), a limited liability company registered in New Jersey, USA. You can reach us at contact@the-hangtime.com.
HangTime is a calendar and hangout-planning app. You can share your availability with friends, create events, send hangout requests, and message other users. It's a tool for coordinating in-person plans.
By creating an account or using HangTime, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. If you're using HangTime on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have authority to bind them to these terms.
Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old to use HangTime. By signing up, you confirm you are.
Accurate information. The information you give us at signup and in your profile should be accurate. Don't sign up with a fake name, fake email, or pretend to be someone you aren't.
One account per person. Don't create multiple accounts for the same person, and don't share your account with anyone.
No impersonation. Don't impersonate other people, public figures, brands, or organizations.
Account security. You're responsible for keeping your password safe. If you suspect someone has accessed your account, change your password and contact us. We're not responsible for losses caused by you sharing your credentials.
When you use HangTime, you agree not to:
We may add to this list. The general rule: don't be the reason someone has a bad time on HangTime.
You own what you create. Events, messages, profile information, and other content you post on HangTime remain yours.
License to operate. To run the service, we need a limited license to use your content for the purpose of providing HangTime. That means we can store it, transmit it to the people you've authorized to see it (followers, event invitees, message recipients), display it back to you, and process it for service operations like search and notifications. This license lasts as long as your content is on HangTime, ends when you delete the content or your account, and grants us no rights to use your content for advertising, training models, or any purpose unrelated to running the app.
You're responsible for what you post. Don't post things you don't have the right to post — including copyrighted content you don't own, images of people who haven't consented, or private information about others.
If you see content or behavior that violates these terms, you can report it in the app. The report button is available on user profiles, messages, and other content surfaces.
When we receive a report, we review it. We may:
Our commitment on objectionable content. HangTime has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We aim to review reports of objectionable content and remove it, and to act against the users responsible, including ejecting them from HangTime, within 24 hours of a report. You can report content from user profiles, messages, events, and other surfaces, and you can block any user at any time.
We make these decisions at our discretion based on the facts we have. We don't pre-screen content before it's posted, but we do respond to reports. We may also take action on content or accounts we discover ourselves, without a report.
If your account is suspended or terminated, you'll lose access to your data on HangTime. You may still request a copy of your personal data before termination takes effect — contact us.
You can block other users at any time from within the app. Blocking is your first line of defense against unwanted contact and is faster than reporting. Blocking prevents the other user from messaging you, seeing your profile, or inviting you to events. We won't notify them that you've blocked them.
You can leave anytime. Delete your account in profile settings → Delete account. This is permanent and irreversible. After deletion, your data is removed per our Privacy Policy.
We can suspend or terminate. We may suspend or terminate your access to HangTime if you violate these terms, if we're required to by law, or if continuing to provide service to you poses a risk to us or other users. We'll generally give notice when we can, but not always — for example, in cases of severe violations or legal demands.
We can also discontinue HangTime. If we shut down HangTime entirely, we'll give you reasonable advance notice and a window to export your data before the service ends.
HangTime helps people meet up in person. We don't verify the identity of users beyond the email they sign up with. We don't conduct background checks. We don't guarantee that another user is who they say they are, that they'll show up to a hangout, or that they'll behave well if they do.
Use your judgment when meeting people. Especially with people you haven't met before:
If you encounter behavior on HangTime that you believe is criminal, contact your local authorities. We'll cooperate with law enforcement in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
HangTime is provided as is and as available. We try hard to make it work well, but we don't guarantee:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of HangTime will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for HangTime in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations. If you live in one, the limitations above apply to the maximum extent permitted by law in your jurisdiction.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app the next time you sign in, or by email. Continued use of HangTime after the changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you don't accept them, your option is to stop using HangTime and delete your account.
The current version is dated at the top of this document.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Informal resolution first. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us. We'll try in good faith to resolve the matter directly. Most issues can be sorted out this way.
If informal resolution doesn't work, any dispute arising from these terms or your use of HangTime will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Atlantic County, New Jersey, and you and we both consent to personal jurisdiction there. You and we both waive any right to a jury trial.
Class actions. You and we agree to bring any dispute only in our individual capacities, not as part of a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.
If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest of these terms still apply.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding HangTime. They replace any earlier agreements, including any earlier version of these terms in which HangTime was operated by an individual rather than GRT Tech LLC.
Severability. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
No waiver. If we don't enforce a provision of these terms in one instance, that doesn't mean we waive the right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You can't transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our permission. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a sale of HangTime, with reasonable notice to you.
Apple-specific. If you're using HangTime on an Apple device, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and GRT Tech LLC, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for HangTime or these terms. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
